FM Approvals offers worldwide certification and testing services of industrial and commercial loss prevention products. Recognized and respected across the globe, FM Approvals certification assures customers that a product or service has been objectively tested and conforms to the highest national and international standards.

Scope of Standards Developing Activity

FM Approvals develops standards for the following product scopes:

FM Approval standards development decisions are based upon advanced research, FM Global need, industry need and customer requests. To the extent possible, FM Approval standards are based on performance of products or services rather than prescriptive conditions. Where applicable, requirements for conformance to an FM Approval standard include limiting values and tolerances. Test methods are defined, as appropriate, for verification.

Products tested and Approved or Specification Listed against national, international, jurisdictional or FM Approvals standards include but are not limited to:

• European Organization for Technical Approvals (EOTA) - Products that are certified through an EOTA program can be CE marked and legally placed upon the European Market. FM Approvals participates in this process.
