Organizational Overview

The International Society of Automation, founded in 1945, is a leading nonprofit organization that sets the standard for automation by helping over 30,000 worldwide members and other professionals perform their work with timely technical information and resources, and advance their careers with programs and services to enhance leadership, organizational, and communications skills. ISA develops national and international standards; certifies industry professionals; provides education and training; publishes books and technical articles; and hosts the largest conference and exhibition for automation professionals in the Western Hemisphere. ISA is the founding sponsor of The Automation Federation (www.automationfederation.org), and has local member sections in over 35 countries (www.isa.org).

Scope of Standards Developing Activity

ISA Standards help automation professionals streamline processes and improve industry safety, efficiency, and profitability. Over 150 standards reflect the expertise from over 4,000 industry experts around the world. Since 1949, ISA has been recognized as the expert source for automation and control systems consensus industry standards.
