Scope of Conformity Assessment Activity
ACB, Inc. provides Certification Services for Wireless Equipment Manufacturers. ACB, Inc. is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), designated by National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and recognized by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a Telecommunications Certification Body (TCB), Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) as a Foreign Certification Body (FCB).
Under the NIST US-EU Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), ACB, Inc. is also a Conformity Assessment Body (CABs) for the Telecommunication Equipment Sector Radio & Telecommunication Terminal Equipment (R&TTE) Directive 1999/5/EC and the Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU. For products with CE mark, we offer Notified Body (NB) Letters Of Opinion (LOO) and Type Examination Certificates for the European market.
ACB was approved in the first round of Certification Bodies recognized to perform Certification for wireless devices to the Japanese Radio Law, which increases market-access for manufacturers on both sides of the Pacific. Under a bi-lateral agreement, the US and Japan have affected the implementation of a Mutual Recognition Arrangement that allows the acceptance of certification decisions under each respective country’s regulations. This new arrangement—and ACB’s program—now offers more options for device manufacturers.
ACB, Inc. is recognized as a foreign certification body under the APEC Tel MRA Phase II Procedures by the Office of the Communications Authority, Hong Kong.

In accordance with the Radio & Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive and the United States-European Union Mutual Recognition Agreement, ACB, Inc. is a designated Notified Body for issuing opinions about conformity of Radio and Telecommunications Equipment.
