Organizational Overview
InfoComm International is the leading non-profit association serving the professional audiovisual communications industry worldwide. Through activities that include tradeshows, education, certification, government relations, outreach and information services, InfoComm promotes the audiovisual industry on a global basis. InfoComm offers three American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited audiovisual certifications under the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024 General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Schemes of Persons program, our general Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), and the specialty levels of CTS-D (Design) & CTS-I (Installation).
Scope of Conformity Assessment Activity
The InfoComm Certification program is managed by the InfoComm Certification Committee which is autonomous, and solely responsible for the administration, oversight and development of credible Certified Technology Specialist certifications (CTS, CTS-D, and CTS-I) and for ensuring the credentials meet high standards of ethical and professional practice for the audiovisual industry.
InfoComm offers three American National Standards Institute (ANSI) accredited audiovisual certifications under the International Standard ISO/IEC 17024 General Requirements for Bodies Operating Certification Schemes of Persons program, our general Certified Technology Specialist (CTS), and the specialty levels of CTS-D (Design) & CTS-I (Installation). Examinations are offered worldwide at professional secure testing centers.
The first level (general) Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) is required before applying and testing for the Certified Technology Specialist - Design (CTS-D) or the Certified Technology Specialist - Installation (CTS-I). Specialized certifications have additional eligibility requirements. Ongoing professional education is required to maintain the CTS credentials at any level. A certification is valid for three years. Certified individuals must earn 30 renewal units (RUs) within each three-year period, remain in good standing and abide by the CTS Code of Ethics and Conduct.
The scope of conformity varies among the ASCI Institutes and is broad. The scope of conformity includes product robustness for industrial automation control (IAC) devices, device conformance to a communication standard, conformance of organizational management practices to a standard for the cyber security lifecycle of deployed devices, conformance of management practices to a standard for the cyber security lifecycle in the development and production of IAC devices, and conformance to a standard of software interfaces and transaction messaging for industrial interoperability.
