Resources: Search For Standards (NSSN)

The NSSN: Search Engine for Standards provides users with standards-related information from a wide range of developers, including organizations accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), other U.S. private sector standards bodies, government agencies, and international organizations.

The NSSN allows users to search by keyword or document (e.g. standard) number to find the full document number, title and developer of a particular standard, as well as information on how to purchase the standard.

Instructions on searching the NSSN are provided below.

Visit the NSSN to search for standards.

To search by keyword:

• Click on Find Title, Abstract or Keyword.
• Type the keyword (i.e. “construction materials”) in the search box.
• Hit Go Find It botton.

To search by document number:

• Click on Find Document Number.
• Type the document number (e.g. “ANSI 245” or just “245”) in the search box.
• Hit Go Find It botton.

The results page provides all matches for the search, including the full title and developer of each standard, and a link to purchase the standard.
