Organizational Overview
Institute of Security Architecture United (ISAUnited) is a standards development organization dedicated to advancing cybersecurity architecture and engineering through disciplined, measurable technical standards. ISAUnited develops, governs, and publishes the
Defensible 10 Standards, a domain based set of parent standards that define requirements, technical specifications, and verification and validation expectations across ten critical security domains, from network and cloud security to cryptography and secure software delivery.
ISAUnited operates as an industry led forum where practitioners, educators, and technical leaders collaborate to produce standards that are implementation oriented, auditable, and defensible under scrutiny. Each standard is structured to support clear engineering outcomes,
traceability, and evidence based demonstration of adoption. Peer review and version control are integral to the process, enabling transparent improvement and community accountability.
Annual open season enables members to propose new sub standards and amendments, which are reviewed and voted on by the Technical Fellow Society to maintain consistency, quality, and long term stewardship at scale globally.
Scope of Standards Developing Activity
Standards development activity is executed through member task groups, transparent version control, and structured peer review. ISAUnited conducts an annual peer review and amendment cycle, including an open season period in which members can
submit new sub standards or propose modifications to existing standards. Final publication decisions are governed through formal technical review and vote to maintain consistency, quality, and long term stewardship.
Supporting annex materials include engineering traceability matrices and evidence pack guidance to promote consistent documentation, test artifacts, and objective assessment across adopters.

International Activities by Region
Institute of Security Architecture United (ISAUnited) develops and maintains cybersecurity architecture and engineering standards that define measurable technical outcomes for modern enterprises. Our standards program, the Defensible 10 Standards,
is organized into ten domain standards that cover network security, cloud security, compute and workload security, application security and secure development, data security, identity and access security, threat and vulnerability engineering, monitoring detection and incident response,
cryptography encryption and key management, and DevSecOps and secure software delivery.
ISAUnited standards specify required inputs, technical specifications, and verification and validation expectations so organizations can design, implement, test, and demonstrate defensible security performance. We publish parent standards and, through a governed submission
process, develop subordinate sub standards that provide detailed engineering requirements for specific security capabilities, components, and patterns. Standards are produced through member task groups, structured peer review, version control, and annual amendment cycles,
including an open season period for new proposals and revisions. Supporting annex materials include engineering traceability matrices and evidence pack guidance to promote consistent documentation, testing artifacts, and objective assessment.
ISAUnited aligns foundational references to widely recognized international and national sources, including ISO and NIST, and provides optional mappings to control frameworks when organizations require compliance alignment.
