As India’s cities continue to grow and expand, concerns about securing tall buildings from a fire and physical security standpoint will undoubtedly increase.
Implementation of codes, installation and design principles, and maintenance and urban engineering strategies will be key to assuring safety in India’s buildings.
In addition to contributing to public health and safety, the workshop will also provide opportunities for industry.
In order to provide a forum for sharing best practices for developing product standards and safety codes between technical experts in the U.S. and India,
a workshop was held in New Delhi on November 4, 2009 entitled “Fire Safety in Tall Buildings: Urban Environment”.
