Cooperation between the U.S. and India in the areas of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) will be
increasingly important as India continues to develop new technology and trade between the two countries grows.
To raise issues and concerns in bilateral trade in hydrocarbon sector,
particularly LNG, CNG and LPG domains, a workshop on "U.S.-India Standards and Conformance Cooperation in LNG, LPG & CNG Equipment" was held on
February 15, 2010 at Mumtaz Hall, Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi.
The workshop included an overview of US experiences in safe practices related to all aspects of LNG, LPG and CNG, as well as activities of the
National Fire Protection Association (NPFA) related to determining effect and applicability of NFPA standards related to the LNG, LPG and CNG industry.
