In April 2018, ANSI was awarded a contract to implement Phase V of the U.S.-China Standards and Conformity Assessment Cooperation Program (SCACP), with sponsorship from the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA). The award follows ANSI’s successful implementation of Phases III and IV of the U.S.-China SCACP.
Each phase of the U.S.-China SCACP features 20 workshops over a 3-year period in China.
The workshops will cover a wide range of sectors, as proposed by interested U.S. private sector organizations. Workshop topics will be chosen in coordination with relevant industry associations, ANSI and USTDA.
The aim of the workshops, and the SCACP, is to provide a forum through which U.S. and Chinese industry and government representatives can:
